About Bangoura

Bangoura Company is the fruit of an enormous love between an African Drum Master and an Israeli choreographer.

On a dance study tour in West Africa, Rachel fell in love with Saboula. They married and came together to Israel in 2000. They have kept Bangoura Company running for over 20 years.

The troupe consists of professional drummers and dancers who have been inspired by African Culture and been trained in Bangoura Company. 

Practise and rehearsals use  African terminology and movements. Africa always remains the source for our colorful and energetic performances.

Bangoura Company has brought spectacular shows to the stages of Suzanne Dellal in Tel Aviv, Gerar Behar Theatre in Jerusalem and to many culural centers  throughout Israel.

Audiences have been carried away by the excitement of our colorful costumes, our drums and our dances in Maalot Festival and others.

We have been accredited by The Israeli Artists Union, ACUM, and the Israeli Choreographers Organization
